The colors in these rich Watermelon Tourmaline slices range from a deep cranberry core, to varying shades of pink, than pale green to emerald green to deep forest green core. The setting was painstaikingly crafted over many days to echo the growth pattern of the tourmaline crystal. The 18kt gold claw shaped prongs emmerge from a sterling silver back that has been highly polished to reflect the edge of the gem, and cut out in the middle in a shape that follows the tourmaline's pink core. The long silver spike balances the mass of the gems to give a fresh, dynamic feeling. Reclaimed diamonds are graver set at the top of the spike, tin repetition of the threefold symmetry of the crystal.
