These are natural, Wild earth-mined alexandrites - not lab grown.  The color changes from a vibrant cool green to a soft pinkish grey.  These gems are among the rarest and most precious in the world.  The heavy sterling silver earrings were designed around them - to showcase them to their fullest.  The gems nestle as the pinnacle of a heavy cast pyramid: the prongs that secure the stone are a poetic continuation of the four corners of the pyramid.  Secured with friction backs.
